It wasn't until the age of 16 after leaving school, he realised his passion was music and decided to take up DJing. He acquired a cheap pair of second hand belt drive decks, along with school friend John Michaels (Johnny Mikes) and soon started to learn the art of mixing. Back then Cozzy was very into the UK Garage scene, and alongside Johnny, they would soon play at various House Parties and stage Student Union events, where they would DJ the whole night and entertain the masses.
In 2000 Cozzy started a part time job working in Loppylugs, an independent Record Shop in North West London. During his time working there he opened his ears to various different genres of Dance Music. Tiring of the UK Garage scene, he began experimenting with different genres of House & Trance Music. He loved it all, funky, tribal, progressive, deep, especially if it had an infectious groove and was uplifting or intense.

In 2001 Cozzy was asked to come and work as a resident DJ in the holiday resort of Malia, Crete in the Greek Islands. During his 5 month summer residency, he also managed to gain a residency at one of the islands best Clubs 'Cosmos' aswell as DJing to over 2 thousand people on Star Beach in Hersonissos. After a brief spell living in Edinburgh, Cozzy soon re-surfaced in London and began to regularly club and through good friend Yianni, Cozzy was introduced to Mark Wilkinson, who was staging Kidology nights at The Blag Club, it was also at one of these Kidology nights that Cozzy met Mark Storie. Cozzy soon decided to put on small underground parties with Yianni. This was the birth of ''dude i am mashed''. The 1st party took place @ Redstar Bar in Camberwell, South London. 150 people attended this intimate little bash and the night proved a great success. The next event took place @ Play Bar on Old Street, a Halloween Special. It was soon after this event that Cozzy D joined forces with Johnny Mikes and Mark Storie to become Dazed & Confuzed. The trio had all been regualr DJs for ''dude i am mashed'' and realised that although different at times, their music tended to compliment each other extremely well. The next ''dude i am mashed'' took place at Masque Bar in King's Cross, and this time Martijn Ten Velden made a special guest DJ appearance. Soon after the boys became residents for Kidology Records and after a successful bi-monthly spell at AKA, Kidology was granted a monthly residency. This residency lasted for 2 1/2 half years and during this time Kidology also got to host the Bar @ London's Ministry of Sound and also the Lounge of The End aswell as other great venues in and around London.

In March 2005 Dazed & Confuzed decided to change their name to Ninja Cowboys, to avoid any confusion, as people started thinking they were associated with the magazine. Over the past year Ninja Cowboys have been ever present fixtures on the London dance music scene. Their immense popularity has even got them gigs abroad in countries such as Australia, Thailand, Poland, Norway and of course Ibiza. On a few occasions the boys have hooked up 6 decks & 3 mixers and taken their DJing to another level. The trio have graced the decks at some of London's Superclubs such as The End, AKA, Ministry of Sound, The Cross, The Key, Pacha & Turnmills, and played for some of the industry's most respected Club Nights, such as Underwater, Type, Renaissance, Circo Loco, Nasty Dirty Sex Music, Heat & Smartie Partie. They have also played a big part in the ''Sunday Clubbing Movement'' playing regularly for Formulate and also having a residency with Fervor. Fervor started back in May 2005. Since the opening event the parties have got bigger and grown from strength to strength. The likes of Audiofly, King Roc, Cass & Mangan, Filthy Rich, Geddes, Dollz @ Play, D.Ramirez & Bushwacka have all made guest appearances, alongside residents Ninja Cowboys, Lovefish & Grimey. Look out for even bigger names to be making appearances in 2007. Cozzy D has also been working hard in the studio on solo projects & other collaberations with his fellow Ninjas and also on other projects with Goldielox & Kid Dub. Look out for forthcoming Ninja Cowboy releases on Kidology, Dozer & Toolroom Records, due for release very soon. Ninja Cowboys have also joined forces with their Engineer Ed Kane to form 'DIRTBAG' The first Dirtbag event will be held @ Egg on Friday 8th December. Headlining the eventm, the boys will be flying in The Japanese Popstars over from Ireland.
